January is almost at an end, and it's soon time for our first gig of the year! In 2 days, we'll be playing at Gamla in Oslo, with Acelsia and Where Angels Fall! Come check us and the other bands out!

Caroline Petersen

Replacing Katja on synth, Caroline Petersen has joined Lotus!
Caroline has played with the band for several weeks already, and will be performing with us live for the first time December 4th during our gig at G60, Drammen. Caroline brings a new level to Lotus, by adding more samples and synths to our live tracks than ever before! And as such adding a new dimension to our sound and presence on stage. We are highly looking forward to many upcoming shows playing with Caroline!

Depature of Katja

Katja has unfortunately decided to move away from Drammen, and therefor she will be leaving Lotus.
Katja has been an amazing synthist for Lotus, and she has done some great work with us. We wish her the best of luck in future endeavors, and know we will stay in touch.

Jørgen Stake

We are happy to finally announce that we have found a drummer!
Jørgen Stake has joined Lotus. He performed with us during The Band Gathering, and did a marvelous job! In Jørgen we have found both talent and great personality, and we are excited to move into a new period of Lotus working together with him.

The Band Gathering Part 2

The Band Gathering this weekend went down great, we all had a good time, and learned a lot! The show went down great, and it all worked so seamlessly the bands (all 7 of us) where done playing more then half an hour before schedule because of the fast changeovers!
We'd like to congratulate Calamity for their victory this weekend, and I wish them luck the next half year, as they will be working with a top producer, and record a new tune in a professional studio! These guys are really talented, and we're looking forward to seeing what they can cook up!

Martial Machine and Imagine the Green Soil have both decided to throw in the towel, at least for a while. We are sad to see them go, as they where both great bands! We wish each individual member the best of luck in their future endeavors, and hope to work with them again at a later point!
The Band Gathering

Sunday October 11th, Lotus will be playing at The Band Gathering - a gig at Union Scene, Grønnland 60, Drammen. We do not have a schedule for the show, but doors open at 5 PM, so come down and check out a lot of local talent.
The Band Gathering is a course for bands arranged by the Buskerud Counsel for Music. There will be up to 9 local bands attending the gig.
Parkfest Teisen

Another year has soon passed, and this is the time for some well earnt rest! For us in Lotus, this has been a very good year, though we have seen our fair share of trouble, especially the last few months. However we have had our first live shows, and seen the completion of several new songs, the experience has been good for us all, and made the band a lot stronger.
We hope all of you out there have had a great Yule-time, and we wish you a very happy new year! We can't wait to see what the new year brings.
Øysteins Departure

We are sorry to announce that drummer Øystein Grønvold has decided to leave the band for reasons not known to the rest of the band. This came as a shock to all of us, but the story must go on, and we have already started auditions for a new drummer. We will let you know as soon as we have decided who will join the next era of Lotus.Work in Progress

We welcome Ingrid Schei to the band as our long-awaited flute player. Ingrids skills and her knowledge learnt through classical training has been a great resource to the band.
The circle is now complete, and we are done looking for new members to complete the band. We will now focus one hundred percent at getting the band ready to play live shows.

New Drummer

We have finally found a new drummer, and he will start practising with the band towards the end of March. We met Øystein during one of his gigs with a local rock band, and his playing skills convinced us into inviting him to join Lotus, a request he gladly accepted.

First of all, we want to wish all our friends out there a very merry X-mas, and a happy new year! We are sorry for the lack of updates on the site this autumn, we will try to post more often in 2008.
The new year will certainly be an interesting one for the band. We have been trying out the new singer and synth-player this autumn, and we are happy to announce that they are now both full time members of the band. I have been writing some new material that we are all really looking forward to be trying out when we start practising again in January. Some samples will be presented at this site as soon as its ready.
